West China School of Nursing invited to attend the Eighth Pan-Pacific Nursing Conference cum Second Cochrane Hong Kong Symposium

The Eighth Pan-Pacific Nursing Conference cum Second Cochrane Hong Kong Symposium was held in Hong Kong, China from March 25 to 28. The conference, organized by the Nethersole School of Nursing of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, was held under the theme "The Future of Nursing: Innovation and Impact in Practice," bringing together nursing and multidisciplinary experts and scholars from over 10 countries and regions. Professor Li Ka, Dean of West China School of Nursing and member of the Party Committee of West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University was invited to lead a team of 15 faculty members and students to attend the conference.

During the conference, our School held a meeting with the Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dean Chien Wai Tong, Professor Chow Ka Ming, as well as representatives of postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students from the Nethersole School of Nursing attended the meeting. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics related to joint student training and further studies, postdoctoral exchange mechanisms, student exchange programs, and high-quality research collaboration, reaching a preliminary consensus on cooperation. Additionally, we conducted recruitment and talent policy promotion targeting doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers at the Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Both sides expressed their commitment to working together to make active contributions to the nursing discipline in building a global community of health for all.

Professor Li Ling from West China Hospital, Sichuan University, delivered a keynote speech titled “ Cochrane China: An Overview of the Past 5 Years’ Work ”.

Two teachers from our college were invited to be the experts for judging the best poster report of this conference, and five doctoral students and three undergraduates made oral speeches.

In the future, the College of Nursing will continue to expand its global cooperation network, empower the construction of world-class nursing disciplines with a higher level of international exchanges, and make greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of nursing in China and serving healthy China.
