From April 26 to 30, 2021，the course entitled "Healthcare Innovation Virtual Mini-Course" was successfully held by West China School of Nursing, Sichuan University and Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Arizona State University.
Reform and innovation are an important driving force for scientific development. In the post-epidemic era, the significance of innovation and leadership has become even more prominent in health care. In order to cultivate students' ability to discover problems, analyze problems from multiple perspectives and solve problems with new technologies and methods, this course drew on the success of last year, and added more relevant contents such as scientific and technological innovation and clinical application on the basis of innovation theory, leadership and entrepreneurship.
The course was jointly taught by Dr. Craig Laser from Arizona State University and Dr. Ren Jianhua from West China School of Nursing , Sichuan University with a combination of online and offline teaching method. Within one week, our students completed the whole process of team building, discussing course issues, conceiving nursing innovation projects, writing project proposals, making slideshows and reporting. During the presentation, the students well demonstrated the excellent performance of innovative research at West China School of Nursing. The professors from Arizona State University highly appreciated their creative thinking and teamwork. The two multinational and cross-university teams completed the entire innovation course through strong online and offline cooperation. The course has already ignited the flame of innovation in the hearts of the students.
In the future, the two schools will continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation through mutual visits between teachers and students, online courses, joint training, innovative nursing education and research, to provide more opportunities for students to expand their international horizons and knowledge boundaries. Our School will also continue to cooperate with top universities around the world to conduct international nursing lectures, online and offline international courses, student international exchange activities, etc., focusing on the exploration and practice of nursing innovation education, and contribute to the cultivation of innovative nursing talents and the vigorous development of nursing profession.
