The first speech of the “Enhance Discipline Strength and Promote Nursing Development” series was held on March 18th. Theguest professor, outstanding Alumni, Prof. Xiao Dongxia from the College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Flinders University in Australia, gave us a wonderful speech titled on “Research on Dementia Caregiver Education: A mixed Methods Study Design”.

Prof. Xiao is the Fellow of Australian College of Nursing and serves on the Healthy Ageing Policy Chapter. She is also the Member of the NHMRC National Institute for Dementia Research in Australia. She has been teaching and reaserching in the areas of caregiver support in dementia care, chronical disease management, cross-cultural dementia care, and nursing education.

The lecture was adopted a combination of online and offline methods, attracting more than 200 teachers and students to actively participate. The postgraduate students of our school conducted in-depth exchanges with Professor Xiao on the nursing frontier issues such as continuing care for the elderly. West China School of Nursing, Sichuan University will continuously invite experts from all over the world to carry out in-depth thinking and communication, and contribute to the construction and development of nursing discipline.
