The speech of the “Enhance Discipline Strength and Promote Nursing Development” series was held on June 4th. Prof. Wong Kam Yuet, theChair Professor in the School of Nursing and the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University,, and visiting professor of Sichuan University, gave us a wonderful speech titled on “Transitional Care:Turning vision into reality”.
Prof. Wong Kam Yuet is a fellow of American Academy of Nursing. Her main areas of academic work include advanced nursing practice, transitional and community care, home care, service models, hospital readmission and curriculum design. She has published 5 books, edited 14 books and published 160 papers in academic journals with citation over 4051 times. She has led a number of research and consultancy projects to translate theory into practice and to simultaneously improve level of theory and practice.
The lecture was adopted a combination of online and offline methods, attracting more than 200 teachers and students to actively participate. Prof. Wong Kam Yuet shared her clinical practices on transitional nursing and introduced us several research projects such as transitional palliative care model and Omaha instrument evaluation system. The postgraduate students of our school conducted in-depth exchanges with Prof. Wong Kam Yuet on how to conduct scientific research on transitional nursing and its implication.
