On December 1st, Professor Thérèse Hesketh from King's College London visited our school. Director Wei Xiawei of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, West China School of Medicine/ West China Hospital, Vice Dean Zhang Fengying of West China School of Nursing and related staff attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Director Wei Xiawei warmly welcomed Professor Thérèse Hesketh, introduced the overall condition of international cooperation and exchange of West China School of Medicine/ West China Hospital, Sichuan University, and proposed that West China School of Nursing has always advocated the integration of scientific research and education, as well as interdisciplinary approach, and expressed her hope to explore cooperation with King's College London in teaching, scientific research, and other areas. Vice Dean Zhang Fengying introduced the basic situation of discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research innovation and international cooperation and exchange plan of West China School of Nursing. She hopes that two universities could cooperate in student visits and exchanges, talents cultivation, innovative scientific research, training of teachers, and other aspects.

Professor Thérèse Hesketh introduced the basic situation and featured direction of nursing research of King's College London. She confirmed the cooperation intention of both parties and agreed that “nursing+” is an important research and development field, and hoped to have the chance to explore cooperation on innovative research and higher nursing education with West China School of Nursing further.

Professor Thérèse Hesketh’s visit effectively promoted mutual understanding between King's College London and West China School of Nursing and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
