On July 19, 2024, 2023 China Medical College/Hospital Science and Technology Evaluation Metrics (STEM) and 5-year Accumulative Science and Technology Evaluation Metrics(ASTEM) ranking for 2019-2023 were released officially. West China Hospital, Sichuan University has stayed at the top of the overall ranking for consecutive 11 years. Nursing Discipline of our hospital ranked first on 2023 China Hospital STEM ranking on Nursing. So far, Nursing Discipline of our hospital has stayed at the top of STEM for consecutive 8 years.

With the theme of "Establishing a oriented medical science and technology evaluation system", the 2023 Chinese Hospital Science and Technology Evaluation Metrics (STEM) covers 2,943 tertiary hospitals, and the top 100 hospitals in 34 disciplines are released this time. STEM adhere to the correct orientation of technology evaluation, establish scientific method of technology evaluation , base on "first-hand indicator", take "understand its use, base on its basis and express its limitations" as the guiding principle for technology evaluation. STEM combine long and short evaluation cycle, play objective guiding role in scientific and technological activities, and create good environment which could stimulate medical technology innovation.
